“a mother’s love”
This piece is to all the women who were raised without a mother's love. This is more so for those whose mothers are alive but were never present. Whether she lived with you but made no effort to connect or you lived without her, wandering separately. There is a unique type of pain knowing the womb from which you came breathes the air of the world with you but not alongside you. Maybe even by choice. Or if she is in your life superficially, but there is no Hallmark card during Mother's Day fitting enough to describe "I care for you, but I cannot firmly say I love you."
I love you, motherless child.
